We left Istanbul early this morning. Things at Istanbul airport run so much more smoothly than the land of Pizza and Spaghetti. It seems the scales in Istanbul are correct as well. Not like the excess weight bill at the previous country, ouch. When I weighed our luggage in Istanbul we were actually within the limit. I couldn’t figure out why everyone from Venice to Rome had such large hand luggage on the local carrier. Obviously to avoid paying higher excess rates, lesson learnt.
No problems on Turkish Airlines with excess luggage, 30kg for economy passengers. The only problem is the seats are a little small. I had to remember some of my former gymnastic skills to get in and out of the seat. Note to self; don’t forget to ask for the emergency isle when you’re tall.
Interesting stuff that happened on the flight
A guy gets on the plane with a full size radio controlled model aircraft, have to wonder whether he paid for a seat for the plane on the plane.
Everyone clapped when Pilot landed at Frankfurt. Here’s an idea, lets start a movement in Australia on Australian flights so that when you land everyone cheers, claps and whistles.
We are so thankful that our girls when they were young children were such good flyers. We didn’t have to give out kisses whilst being screamed at and hit in the face….
So here are the troops at the Sky-lounge at Frankfurt ready for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City, eager ready to go.
A view from the lounge, inspirational architecture views with an aircraft taking off.
